Amazing Duo

Scarlett Lillian and Stephen Knuth have to be one of the cutest couples we've ever met. You can truly see their love for one another. I admire them for several reasons : their faith, their mad photography skills, and their positivity. Ironically, we have something in common with them ... Stephen lives in San Diego and Scarlett lives in Florida. Sound familiar? :)

While Stephen was in Jax., FL visiting his sweetheart we had the opportunity to model for him and Scarlett Lillian as they used some new off camera lighting equipment. Here are some of Scarlett Lillian's pictures from the shoot.

Timothy Jay Photography

I met Timothy Jay about three years ago through Dustin. Tim is a lifestyle photographer based in Jacksonville, FL who has been in the business between five to six years. He is willing to travel to any destination. He is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. He's easy to get along with and wants nothing more than to please you. He also works at Bento located at the Town Center and if he's not there you can catch him at Mochi, right next door. :)

Tim photographed our engagement and wedding. He has also photographed us to promote his photography business and website. His work gets better and better every time I see new posts. With that being said two of my friends have used him for their weddings and they're pictures look great! So, when you get the chance check out his website at www.timothyjayphoto.com

Dear Blog, please forgive me ...

Wow, I think my last entry was in October. Whew! Sorry Mr. Blog, truly. It's the beginning of February and it's been a great start to 2010. Florida has experienced an unusually cold spell for the last several months. Personally, I've enjoyed it. As a Floridian we do not usually get the opportunity to experience the seasons, so I've been excited about the weather change. Although, I must say, we didn't really have a "fall" ,so to speak, it seems as though it went from Spring to Winter in a matter of weeks. This weather has really taken a toll on some but little do they know that in just a couple of months they will be WISHING it was cooler. We will soon experience Florida's well known humidity and heat. Every girl just loves frizzy weather now don't they!? Hey, I look at it this way ... at least we are not shoveling snow out of our driveways! There's a brightside to everything.

Just a couple of weeks ago Dustin and I started attending a Life group at Chet's Creek Church and we absolutely love the class and the couples we get to fellowship with every Sunday! From day one they were extremely welcoming and in that same week I attended a girls dinner hosted by the lovely Meghan Dunn (her and her husband lead our young couples class). Dustin got the chance to hang out with the guys that same night. We both got home around 11:30p.m. and shared our evening with one another. We loved the fact that we FINALLY found a good group of couples to hang out with.

Just this past Sunday Dustin and I had a blast at our photoshoot with Lyndsay, owner of Pink Coffee Photoart. She is truly talented in many ways. She is an AWESOME photographer, very fashionable, knows how to make a mean bib necklace and, my favorite, yarn pom poms to go on her yarn wreath. Is there anything this girl can't do? I think NOT! Check out her blog and see what I'm ranting and raving about! She is also conducting her own mentoring program where she will answer any questions you may have about photography and the best part is, she's GIVING AWAY a spot to one lucky photographer, so if you're interested in finding out "How To Make Pink Coffee" please visit her website for details. Today is the last day to enter her contest. I've entered and I'm crossing my fingers!!! :)

Tune in tomorrow, she will be posting our session on her blog, I can't wait to see them!

I hope everyone has a blessed day!

Day Three: Thinking about My Relationships

"You can thrive in your careers, acquire wealth and reputation, even experience tremendous impact in your ministry. But if your relationships are languishing, nothing else matter." -Tom Holladay

Did you know Jesus believes that Nothing is more important than relationships?

"From the beginning to end, nothing is more important than relationships. In the beginning, God created you for relationships. He made you to relate to him and to others. Miss out on relationships, and you're missing the core reason for which God put you on this planet. And in the end, nothing is more important, because nothing will last longer than relationships. Your relationships with God and others will last all the way into eternity ... A life without relationships may well be a simpler life, but it is also an empty life." - Tom Holladay.

"'The most important [commandment]', answered Jesus, 'is this: ...'Love the Lord your God with ALL your heart and with ALL your soul and with ALL your mind and with ALL your strength.' The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself'" (Mark 12:29-31). The path to putting God first starts with the word all.

My church is doing a 40 day campaign on LOVE and the book we are reading through this journey is titled The Relationship Principles of Jesus by Tom Holladay, Teaching Pastor, at Saddleback Church. This devotional book is PROFOUND. It walks you day by day, step by step, through how to live out six foundational truths taught by Jesus. This book will truly help transform my (your) relationships! I strongly encourage everyone to look into reading this devotional with a friend, spouse, boyfriend, girlfriend, small group, etc. It's already changing my life and I'm only on day 3!

Take Your Mark ... Get Ready ... Get Set ... GOO!

What a glorious day it was today at the 32nd Annual Gate River Run. Dustin and I woke up at 5:45 a.m. this morning and began getting ready. We were meeting his parents, and my mom at Dustin's parents house and left at 7 a.m. to pick up our niece, Reagan. It was EXTREMELY foggy this morning and we were pretty bummed. It's a good thing God knows what He's doing, we were actually very grateful for the fog. Not once did we feel hot. Once the cannon was shot, we were trying to shuffle our way in. It was SO CROWDED we started 8.5 minutes late. So we finished the race in 1 hour 52 minutes. During the peak of the race I was asking myself "why did I decide to do this?" I was really feeling the BURN on my legs and feet. I also didn't think the Hart Bridge was going to be all that bad ... holy moly was I in for a "treat". This was, physically, one of the HARDEST things I've ever accomplished. I plan on training A LOT more for next year's race.
